Singapore authorities issues an international search warrant for the diplomat Silviu Ionescu accused of causing an accident which triggered the death of one person and the injury of another two people, in this country. According to Vienna Convention the investigations on the Romanian diplomat will be carried on by the Romanian authorities.

Silviu Ionescu is accused of third degree murder, leaving the place of the accident and false statements. The investigators say that instead of stopping and calling an ambulance for the victim he kept driving and on the next junction he hit another young man. Moreover he tried to hide his action and staged the car stealing.
Charge d’affaires Silviu Ionescu denied that he was driving the car which caused the accident in the evening of 15 December 2009. The diplomat recounted in January for Antena 3, that his car was stolen from the front of the embassy and the witnesses which were placing him at the place of the accident were wrong and can be suspected of bad intentions.
