Those who advocate closure of parks, banning of exercise are shortsighted people, who have missed the forest for the trees.
All medical evidence shows that those with sedentary lifestyle (and smoking) related chronic medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol, heart and kidney problems, stroke/ dementia, cancer, are at the highest risk of severe complications/ mortality from COVID-19 infections which would use up precious ICU / ventilator beds.
Not for love of money, but of Humanity. "Greater is he who works for the good of all, then he who works for the good of himself only" ~ Matthew 25:40: "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"- (NIV). I live in Singapore where the Emperor must not be disturbed.

America's Presidential electoral college system: a severe Achilles heel.
America's Presidential electoral college system: a severe Achilles heel.
From the perspective of laws/ morals.
Communism is a legal / moral philosophy that promises fairness and care for poor: "from each his ability, to each his needs", but usually sold by dishonest tyrants who break their own promises and betray the poor the moment they are enthroned.

Deng XiaoPing original blueprint for HKG- China reunification, happily ever after.
Deng XiaoPing original vision for HKG- China reunification was for the two to unite as one country and establish the best of the 2 systems. Subsequent Chinese leaders betrayed his vision by suppression of democracy in HKG which caused the wealth inequality situation in HKG to go out of control.

Obsolete and outdated USA vote counting method is a DANGER to the world.
Obsolete and outdated USA vote counting method is a DANGER to the world.
DentalFloss(PF) wroteYou realize that the allocation of electoral college votes doesn't require, or even allow, "voters" to have a say, right? As a practical matter, all 50 States have adopted that method, and most, but not all, use the "winner take all" method. But there is nothing that requires that. The State Legislature could decide to use ANY method they chose, the flip of a coin for example, or even only having the Legislature itself vote on the Electors. There is no right for the average person to have a vote at all.

Why Brexit referendum is a PLUS for WORLD PEACE: stale (rancid) agreements should be reviewed at periodic intervals.
Pict sauceJust my 2cents.
Judging by current world trends and the problem of too big to fail: but FAILED in the context of recent significant disasters the likes of Fukushima, Lehman Brothers 2008 (World Financial Crisis), Greek debt crisis etc: to me, all are syndromic of 'groupthink' and the concept of systematic and extensive whistle blower silencing.

Sans bicycle, Singapore will probably surrender once more, not too long after SG50.
Faced with severe healthcare challenges, a high terrorist threat and criticisms about high per-capita greenhouse gas emissions from Singapore, I think that Singapore has NO OTHER CHOICE but to embrace the humble bicycle with open arms.

For the sake of world peace, Greece should ASAP quit EuroZone.. So that it can CEASE to be a money laundering agent (subsidiary) of the European Central Bank.
"And for every euro in bailout funds, the Greek government receives less than 20 per cent. The rest goes to bankers and bondholders." ['Time for a broader view on what threatens Europe's future']
I always knew that the Eurozone was in a very sick situation, but I didn't know about the degree of $ laundering until I read that "... for every euro in bailout funds, the Greek government receives less than 20 per cent. The rest goes to bankers and bondholders.": which just proves that most of the eurozone GDP is from euro currency stimulus policies and not real productivity in output: e.g. business/ infrastructure investments which do not necessarily benefit society (spear headed by greedy bankers + political elites) and only making the eurozone area inequality divide wider which makes it a culture pot for terrorist ideology that is fed by wealth/ social inequality.

Singapore should STOP being 'accomplice' to wife/ child abuse by EP holders... ... by being much stricter in enforcing "court-ordered maintenance" payments and a cancellation of EP for default of >1-month etc.

Only in the mutual virtues of charity and austerity, can solutions to the Greek debt crisis be found...

In general, Greeks are in general more tolerant, generous and kind people who value human dignity. I have been to their community farms, etc. Their history has not always being kind to them. Just think about it. If one day, Singapore has no money to buy food from Malaysia, should it ... Be humble and beg for food from Malaysia. BE ASSERTIVE and tell Malaysia, I have nothing left but bombs to hit your business. I have nothing to lose. Give me some food on IOU and when we eat the food and have strength, we will work to pay you for the food later. |

Greek debt crisis= a dilemma of moral proportions...:
Greek PM Alexis Tsipras [dials emergency EU helpline]: 'my people are suffering, we need the funds and resources to jump start out economy. Papa EU, please also forgive our €315b debt'...
Papa EU (fronted by Merkel/ Germany): ' sorry to see U in so much pain, sorry for not warning U earlier not to borrow so much Euros (we too were having such a good time pre2008 selling U useless stuff then, remember), U have since already received €240b bailout package, but now I want the rest of my $$$ (/'one pound of flesh') back!' [slams down phone]...

From a few thousand years of history we know that (resistance, or in this time political) movements do not lead to a better future... have often led to an empire, slavery or war. Communism and democracy are not the solutions, neither a unification or combination of both. The solution is non-political independence from the system (especially on energy, because it's a fundament of nature), as individual or as family or with some friends, never in mass (but many people can work on the same idea as individuals) People are part of nature, so the answer can be found in nature. Politics or a revolution or a revolutionary movement are going to hurt your future and that of Hong Kong (some older Hong Kong people said that you must stop the Umbrella revolt and go back to work, which is half the solution. The solution is stop any revolution or political struggle, and work for yourself (try to become independent and self sustained on the fundamental things a family needs, you can keep your current job until you have a small buisness running) Politics is not the language of the people (people are influenced by politics for a long time), it is used by persons that are seeking control and power over people. |

Communism vs Democracy (Unite): the ball is at President Xi JinPing's feet.
I believe that in all forms of politics: communism, autocracy, democracy
etc etc, the main focus should be care for poor people and the
elimination of corruption. In this essay, I focus on the latter
(corruption) and other points too.
Chiefly, WRT corruption, there are 2 main methods of targeting this, perhaps of equal importance: firstly, those against corruption should be people who are honourable themselves and who place charity above their own needs: healing the wounds of society by uplifting the impoverished. The second is transparency and freedom of speech so that whistle blowers cannot be silenced.

Zeitgeist (Movie, Part III): The shocking story of how central bankers/ cartels are..
The shocking story of how central bankers/ cartels are trying to rule the world and enslave everybody through their 'ownership'/ manipulation of the FED and their stationing of cronies as successive American presidents.
Even conspiring to wage world wars for personal financial profit,
the grievous acts these central bankers have committed should not go unpunished.
We should try to stop them soon...
