[Singapore]: Should internet (online) voting be allowed?
Probably, PAP will roll out internet voting vz Singpass or so for citizens based abroad or Singaporeans on quranteen /stay home notice (SHN) who are not allowed to leave home except for serious emergency (go to A&E for medical treatment etc) to cast their vote during general elections.
However, how can the people trust the government with online voting or even the AGC if they all use twisted logic to support the incumbent?
Like suppose they say that the incumbent has certain special rights, like the right to campaign on polling day inside a poling station? (Which is actually not within the radius of a poling station based on the then AGC explanation why PAP campaigning on poling day inside a poling station was not an offence).
What about an independent election ombudsman to oversee the process, audit by UN/ block chain expertise, that the online computer voting is not rigged etc? Can each online voter be issued a secret serial number and receipt as a form of block chain double check so all the votes are transparent although only the voter will know his serial number so he can raise protest if his vote has subsequently been tampered with by some hacker or programmer with malicious intent to alter the election outcome?
Or will these stay home notices (SHN) be another form of gerrymandering or election fraud used against opposition political parties either to achieve vote stuffing or preventing or obstructing certain members of the electorate from voting?
Can the authorities provide some answers at least for now, what is the protocol for voting for both citizens abroad and local with some flu symptoms and for those on stay home notice given that the real severity of COVID-19 is still unknown because we don't know how many asymptomatic infected people there really are due to the shortage of time to produce sufficient/ reliable tests kits.
If the COVID-19 turned out to have a mortality rate just like H1N1 (0.02%)https://www.reuters.com/article/us-flu-h1n1-pandemic/swine-flu-infected-1-in-5-death-rate-low-study-shows-idUSBRE90O0T720130125 , then would there have been gross injustice to those unable to vote due to being quarantine or in SHN?

Not for love of money, but of Humanity. "Greater is he who works for the good of all, then he who works for the good of himself only" ~ Matthew 25:40: "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"- (NIV). I live in Singapore where the Emperor must not be disturbed.
