Not for love of money, but of Humanity. "Greater is he who works for the good of all, then he who works for the good of himself only" ~ Matthew 25:40: "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"- (NIV). I live in Singapore where the Emperor must not be disturbed.

Immoral NTUC is by no small measure, responsible for the panic buying of food.

Immoral NTUC is by no small measure, responsible for the panic buying of food.

Selfish and irresponsible wastage of food by NTUC one cause of COVID-19 panic buying amongst Singaporeans.

Photos showing significant quantities of imported high quality salmon placed on last minute 'quick sales' at NTUC which don't / never happen, in part because the under 15% discount is totally derisory and lackluster:

Same photo with proof that it was taken at 10.35pm, 85 minutes before 12MN when it has to be discarded because expired food cannot be sold nor displayed on supermarket shelves:Image

NTUC probably waste a lot of food and squander a lot of cash flow by being mean, evil and cruel to Singaporeans by refusing to give away expiring food. (Choosing the dustbin over poor Singaporeans).

In fact, NTUC is so arrogant, they like to taunt poorer Singaporeans with an almost derisory/ negligible discount of just 15% for same day consumption food and even at 10.35 pm, less than 2 hours to the time for disposal of the expired food (must be same day consumed), NTUC still refused to reduce prices progressively to zero, either at 12MN or time of store closing so it wouldn't be wasted. >$60 of food in this photo is heading for the garbage chute in under 2 hours.

With NTUC portraying such heartless and immoral cruelty and the irresponsible wastage of edible food, how can Singaporeans feel secure?

This is like spiking the face of Singaporeans by telling them that if u don't accept 15% discount, then I will feed all this food into the dustbin before I open again tomorrow.

Probably, NTUC products are overpriced (due to supermarket oligopoly), so they can afford to be both haughty and careless about ensuring reduction in food wastage.

This socially and morally irresponsible way in which NTUC is behaving leaves many with the zero sum game, beggar my neighbor mentality where cash is King, since cash rich NTUC can afford to routinely discard unsold good to artificially keep prices high and treat Singaporeans like dirt, not deserving of food destined for the garbage bin.

This results in people fighting each other and hording large quantities of staples, possibly to resell on Carousell for a profit should NTUC run out of supplies since they are confident that NTUC, being a big and excessively business minded supermarket, will deliberately discard unsold perishables etc just to artificially maintain high food prices: a morally repugnant, wasteful and irresponsible management of edible food.

When major political leaders and supermarket union associations behave like uncivilized barbarians, so would the citizen patrons.

NTUC is sowing the seeds of the destruction of Singapore society.

NTUC and their affiliate political association leaders should be very ashamed of themselves for their betrayal of the trust of Singaporeans and the destruction of human morals in Singapore society.

Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity."
