SINGAPORE: Former China tour guide Yang Yin was back in court on Wednesday (Nov 5) to face an additional 320 charges of falsifying documents. Yang is at the centre of an ongoing legal tussle over an elderly widow's assets - estimated to be worth S$40 million. The latest charges are for falsifying receipts between 2009 and 2014 as the director for a music and dance studio. These were for amounts between $500 and $6,500. Yang allegedly created these receipts reflecting payment for activities such as piano lessons and training - when there were no such incidences. He now faces a total of 331 charges, related to receipts amounting to about S$450,000. Yang has been remanded, and and the Court will decide on Thursday if he will be granted bail. - CNA/xy |
