Instead of earning citizen's/ international praise by promulgating upright, cohesive, progressive policies that benefit both the poor and enterprise alike, MPs like Lim Wee Kiak like to show off their pay slips to CEOs to obtain their attention/ 'respect', Lim Wee Kiak must as well point a gun at the CEO's head to hold ransom their respect. It seems that Lim Wee Kiak is speaking from the POV of an uncivilized cannibal: the more human teeth dangling from his necklace/ human scalps around his waist: the more fear ('respect') he obtains from CEOs... like a fascist/ authoritarian ruler. Me thinks that the only real effect that the said PAP MP has on enterprise is to chase away foreign investors because any fool will spot the barbarism and crassness of his mindset: that greed (his own wealth) is the greatest good of all.
If Lim Wee Kiak isn't sowing the seeds of civil unrest and the eventual demise of enterprise, I don't know what is.
Actions speak louder than words: by raising political salaries to compensate for the embarrassment of bad national/ economic policies: this MP has only put in words what a failure the PAP now is.
And then instead of advancing the expansion GRC system (post 1988) towards the greater inclusion of minority race/ religious views, they enhanced the GRC system towards favoring ruling party (PAP) candidates ( "(PAP candidates) winning at least their first election")
With such authoritarian/ fascist mindset, the following state of affairs in Singapore is indeed no surprise at all:

PS:
PAP MPs win elections by being authorised to loiter INSIDE poling stations on polling day (trying to influence votes from the INSIDE) because it is illegal to loiter within 200m radius OUTSIDE the vicinity poling station.

"If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity." - MP Lim Wee Kiak apologises for comments on pay [IMG URL] |
