The machine can accept 600 recyclables after the bin is emptied, however, the demand for vouchers is so high that the technician needs to come every 1 hour on weekends. Users are advised to WhatsApp /call the company but obviously that is absurd by virtue of the massive demand for vouchers as the queue of elderlies shows. The breakdown sign probably shows just how often the machine is overused, that it is placed permanently to dissuade users from bringing so many recyclables to exchange (or maybe NTUC has run out of sponsorship funds) :


The elderly are indeed trying quite hard to make ends meet, hopefully they make the collection bin bigger to make down times shorter so that the elderly do not have so long to wait:



Actually the a/m are the lucky, more well informed ones who can probably bring home $10/day if one brings 200 recyclables in a big bag. Those not so informed have to collect cardboard the entire night for just $3.10 in payment from karang guni middle men for their piles of cardboard collected overnight :
