Singapore government opts to keep property prices artificially inflated/ high???- why???!!!
To earn more revenue to pay their own salaries is it???
In the 1960-80s, Singapore was a real socialist state, confiscation farmland from the rich to sell HDB flats to all Singaporeans at costs plus prices (minimal land component costs for confiscated (cheap) land), why suddenly now talk about HDB BTO at market prices??? It's public housing for the poor/ very poor after all- just to justify PAP salaries at self determined "market pricing" is it???
Not for love of money, but of Humanity. "Greater is he who works for the good of all, then he who works for the good of himself only" ~ Matthew 25:40: "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"- (NIV). I live in Singapore where the Emperor must not be disturbed.

With Reverse Mortgage facilities dime a dozen, Asset-rich Singaporeans should stop badgering the government for handouts and free gifts.
References as appended:
- Reverse mortgage - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- List of banks in Singapore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- ST,05Dec2013: 'A question of fairness'
Pls note that there are "at present, 111 commercial banks" in Singapore, so commercial banks can handle the reverse mortgage of private properties and the CPF can handle the reverse mortgage of HDB properties (all sizes); only when the per capita home equity of a person should fall below say SGD50K should a person be granted be granted full medifund subsidies (sans congenital illness that is)- this of course is just a ball park suggestion, other suggestions should equally be considered.

Source thread: [discussion]: Encouraging locals to be in service industry
What measures can be implemented or what can be done to encouraged locals to be interested in service industry? Besides increasing pay (which can calculated), what can be done to increase people to take pride (which is not continued) in service industry?
Also, why is the reality show, Can you Serve? not shown anymore? It has only 2 seasons.....

Public transport congestion/gridlock: another cash cow for the Singapore government too?
Public transport congestion/gridlock: another cash cow for the Singapore government too?
- Money (taxes) collected from the opportunistic licensing of public and private transport, shouldn't it be returned in the form of infrastructure to encourage cycling or other forms of healthy, nonpolluting commute options e.g. walking etc?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I understand that SBS/ TIBs (public) bus services probably have to pay COE, road tax and ERP whilst operating their respective public bus services, MRT also has to pay LTA royalties for the use of the MRT carriages and tracks, +/- physical infrastructure.

Judicial courts in Singapore should stop assuming that the government is always right or being the political mouth piece of the government.

I read with some concern the article (appended in quote below) 'What court decision on by-election reveals' [TODAY, 06Aug2013] and noted the bias in 2 contrasting statements pertaining to the decision of the court to "dismissed her appeal on the ground that she lacked standing to have the case heard."

How cheap (easy) can it be for the rich to hold Justice/ the Court hostage in Singapore?
The short answer: just ~0.05% of the claim amount sought. (caveat: see below)
I read with interest: 'Ex-UOB head's kin sue fund managers over $139m portfolio'[ST, 19July2013](appended below in quotes)
Which presuming it is a case heard over 15 days:
Court Hearing Fees (Value of claim above S$1million)

Morality based taxation in Singapore, and the hierarchy of it all (H2O consvn tax, GST etc)
[pict sourced fr Google Image (used w apologies)]
It has recently caught my attention, 2 consecutive letters to the press to which the government has scan answered I believe.
The first is by Mr Chin Kee Thou 'Double tax for water use not fair' (My paper,05Sept2011) in which he pertinently states: "The water-conservation tax is levied as a deterrent or penalty against excessive use and wastage of water, and is similar to a fine for traffic offences.
The conservation tax and traffic fine are neither goods nor services, and the latter is not subject to GST.

Before we introduce the FT MP, how about reviewing the (duplicitous) GRC system of elections?

Before PAP decides to introduce a FT MP scheme (dun pretend, U know what the abbrv.'FT' means), lets free minority political representation of the duplicitous GRC system of elections, as PAP ceaselessly invites more and more foreigners to run our little country ...

Mindless money printing- the S$308.4032B reason why inflation in Singapore is so high today.
According to video 'Causes of inflation: Cost-push and demand-pull'[YouTube]
Cost push inflation is input cost inflation caused by land, labour, capital, entrepreneurship- any increase in the cost of these factors increases the final product cost (i.e. an increase in CPI(Consumer Price Index)).
Demand Pull inflation is caused basically by the demand upon certain goods, as measured by the number of dollars people are willing to wage to attain a certain product.

Moral Decay and the downfall of the American economy
Machim wrote:
Source Thread: 'Rise and Fall of Superpower'
The current era that we are living are presenting very challenging environment not only to the individuals but also to the very societies due to the global resource constraint and technology bottle neck.
In the past, there were enough technologies breakthrough and innovations that allowed the the country with the most advanced scientific power to become superpower in terms of economy and influence. Example is America and Japan, where their innovations allowed them to develop leading technology and products that dominated the world economy. When technology innovations are at that plenty, the direction of the future development is clear and obvious for the world leaders. USA and Japan would always manufacture the most leading products, while the less developed cheaper countries would manufacture more mainstream products at a cheap lower cost.
